The first thing one notices about the album is its cover. Animals surrounding and four human beings in the cage maybe the only ones left. 'Pure Instinct'. The instinct of living? I know some fans who don't like 'Pure Instinct', because they think it's not rocking and has a lot of a pop albums. But my aim is not to evaluate the whole album or to write about each song in particular but just to say how I feel about 'Pure Instinct'. Well, I think this album is suitable for any situation. "Wild Child" and "Stone In My Shoe" will certainly make you feel better when you're in a bad mood (I checked that myself!) on another rainy morning. And songs like "Does Anyone Know", "Are You The
One?" and "You And I" (one of my favourites! :-) ) are perfect if you want to calm down when something goes wrong and find some time to be alone with only Scorpions. As for me, I enjoy doing my homework, listening to 'Pure Instinct', it helps me to concentrate on what I'm doing. It's specially good when doing Maths the solutions come themselves! :-) Another thing I like in the album is the songs lyrics. These are words you want to re-read and remember. So my favourite song is "Soul Behind The Face" - don't you think it's amazing? And one more thing I wanted to say about 'Pure Instinct'. I began with the cover of the album. Of course, everybody has its own idea about its meaning. In my
opinion, it shows that we mustn't forget about who we are or the world will turn upside down for us. People were in the cage at the beginning, but they managed to escape at the end. So the world won't become a crazy one? I believe...

I think this album is one of the best creations of Scorpions. Anyhow none of others albums arouses such a unconquerable wish to get each of its songs by heart. And they really deserve it, indeed!
'Are you the one' - because it makes you sink into your thoughts, 'You and I' - because it shows very clearly why we lose control, 'Does anyone know' - because it makes you think what we are looking for in our life, 'When you came into my life' - because it helps to remember the most beautiful feeling of ours. When you're listening to the songs 'Time will call your name' and 'Where the river flows', you realize that in spite of everything you need to keep your faith and believe in that place by the river where dreams will never die. With the help of 'Stone in my shoe' you realize that even if your world comes tumbling down, there's a way out. 'Soul behind the face' shows that people have
a soul, a real soul. The songs 'But the best for you' and 'Oh girl (I wanna be with you)' just glorify love and 'Wild child' glorifies passion.
And the name of all of it is 'Pure instinct', not innate, but acquired instinct that is hardly controlled by our mind.
